What are Botanical Soaps?


Our Botanical Soaps are made from the finest organic oils and butters, with absolutely no synthetic fragrances or colourings - just a dash of essential oils for a gentle scent.


Are they suitable for sensitive skin?

Yes! We have even formulated our Oat & Shea bar specifically for sensitive skin. Enriched with organic oat milk and shea butter to soothe and calm your skin. Oat & Shea Botanical Soap is fragrance free (not even any essential oils in this one!)


Isn't soap drying on my skin?

Some soaps maybe, but not our handmade Botanical Soap! We use the cold process method when making our soaps. In cold process soap glycerin is a naturally occurring by-product of the saponification process - and glycerin is wonderful for your skin. Industrial soap makers remove this precious glycerin to sell to skincare companies, leaving a cheap, drying bar of soap, however we leave it exactly where it is. re:treat Apothecary Botanical Soaps are packed with glycerin which actually helps hydrate and relieve dry skin. A little glycerin gift in every bar!


Wow! So can I use Botanical Soap on my whole body?

Yes! You can have a bar of Botanical Soap at sinks for handwashing and in the shower to replace shower gel. 


What about packaging, I heard you were environmentally friendly?

Great question! Soap is such a great starter for a plastic-free bathroom! We wrap our Botanical Soaps in recycled kraft paper and compostable sticker. No need for any more plastic bottles!


Are Botanical Soaps suitable for men?

Yup, they are suitable for anyone with a body. All re:treat Apothecary products are proudly gender neutral. 


Do Botanical Soaps contain any animal products?

Nope! All re:treat Apothecary products are vegan friendly and cruelty free. 


How long will my Botanical Soap last?

It depends how the bar is stored. Please try to keep your bar of Botanical Soap dry between uses - using a soap dish or rack, and your bar can last months!


Your soaps don't smell as strongly as other brands, why is that?

Yes, we are passionate about excluding all perfumes and synthetic fragrances in our Botanical Soaps. The scent you can smell is 100% from organic plant oils. If you want a longer lasting natural scent on your body, check out the Natural Oils range.
